RefME heads to UAE for Sharjah Book Fair

There’s no sign of winding down for the holidays at camp RefME, with awards, conferences and speaking events all over the world keeping the team very busy, even while we grow so quickly we had to move to a bigger office last week!

Fresh from the AASL conference in Columbus, Ohio, our head of Academic Partnerships Jock Wright is making his way to Sharjah, in the United Arab Emirates. It’s not just the warmer climate that he’s after though, as the city is hosting one of the most important book fairs and librarian conferences in the Middle East from the 10th to the 12th November. The conference aims to become the “the centre for knowledge and literature in the region”.

Jock says:

“I love that the theme of Sharjah is to cultivate the love for literature among people by enriching their experience of the written word. That ties into RefME’s  mission to connect and validate knowledge, something that has the potential to hugely enrich the reading and learning experience for students everywhere. We’re offering Higher Education librarians all over the world the best citation tool without any setup costs, licence fees, or tie-ins. There is no catch, just a desire to get as many users from all over the world loving citations instead of dreading that moment when they remember they have to do their bibliography.”

If you’re planning on attending the conference or would like some more information about how RefME can help both your institute and your students (for the awesome price of free), be sure to tweet @wright_jock or @GetRefME and use the hashtag #SIBF15

We might get some time off at Christmas, but I wouldn’t bet on it!
