Yesterday ReferenceME competed in the Challenge Cup hosted by the WashingtonDC V.C. 1776. It was a great day pitching and getting feedback from the 1776 mentors and Pearson, whom sponsored the event. In particular we would like to thank Evan for all the useful feedback he gave us and look forward to staying in touch with the 1776 team.
The day ended in a one minute pitch competition with the two best startups going through to battle it in a final round. Amazingly ReferenceME went through to the final two despite strong competition from some amazing startups like Seed Jobs, Wibbu and Zondle to name a few.
ReferenceME came up against Fluency in the final. Fluency are a digital educational platform teaching all the relevant digital skills you need in the modern world. What an amazing startup and something that is very relevant to all of us, and we reckon that is why they won!! There is nothing we can do against social and job creating companies like Fluency in a competition as ReferenceME is simply for lazy people 😉
Over all though, we had a great day and are chuffed to bits to have even got to the final two. We look forward to seeing Fluency go on to DC and to be crowned as the overall winners. Go check ‘em out btw www.fluency.io
